I have been Principal Percussionist of the world-famous Hallé Orchestra in Manchester, England since 1989. I also teach timpani and percussion at the renowned Chethams School of Music in Manchester, and have also taught at the Royal Northern College of Music as well as examining at many of the major UK conservatoires. I have written extensively for timpani and percussion and many of my compositions feature on the major examination boards in the UK.
